Review
A new model of blood pressure monitor, the Omron HEM-711DLX comes with a
moderate amount of extra features and comes with a mid-ranged price. Like most Omron models, it comes with their IntelliSense technology
and is simple to use. It should be noted that this blood pressure monitor has only been on the market since the beginning of 2008, and
though there have been no problems with it so far, it is unknown whether or not it will remain accurate after heavy use. Its overall
rating may go up should it stand the test of time.
Compared with other blood pressure monitors, the Omron HEM-711DLX has most basic features that other monitors have, but lacks
anything really fancy. These more basic features include the ComFit cuff with patented IntelliSense technology that automatically
fits your arm so long as it's between 9 and 17 inches around. It also has irregular heartbeat detection, which some people need in their
hearth rate monitor. And it also comes with 60 memory units and advanced averaging, which provides enough statistical data for most
people. In addition, the included carrying case and AC adapter give you all the accessories you'll need.
As noted earlier, the main concern with the HEM-711 DLX is that it's a new model of blood pressure monitor, so
it's unknown if it will remain accurate over time, though it the short term in has proven to be very accurate in measuring blood pressure.
And not only is it accurate, but it also can give a reading 2.5 times faster than a similar competing blood pressure monitor. Additionally,
this Omron monitor is different in that it is completely silent to operate, and does not emit a heart rate tone. Some people might
miss the beeping, but many may prefer the quiet instead.
This is an overall solid new model. It's recommend for anyone who wants all of the basic features that come with a blood
pressure monitor, and a few more advanced ones. However, if you're someone who wants all the bells and whistles, there are other monitors
available that have more extras and are not significantly more expensive. Also, if you're worried about reliability, realize that the
there is always a 5 year warranty on this product. And there's no reason to believe this blood pressure monitor won't last a long time, as
most Omron products are quite reliable.
